the story of mcs
Hi, I’m ERIN.
I have over a decade of experience in communications, with a background in campaign development, content strategy, and design. I am naturally creative, love storytelling, creating clean, eye-catching materials, and building strategic plans using unique, cross-channel tactics. After gaining experience working for large corporations, municipalities, political campaigns, and agencies, I finally listened to that nagging voice in the back of my mind, telling me to go out on my own - sometimes, you just have to stop overthinking and just take that leap, so I did.
Throughout my career, I have developed a strong aversion to the phrase, “This is the way we’ve always done it.” When I hear that, what comes to mind are all the missed opportunities and the unmet potential a brand, a company, or a campaign creates by ascribing to this philosophy. My goal is to help you build and expand your brand’s footprint, reputation, and credibility in a way that leaves a lasting impact. Most importantly, I want to leave you with an end product in your voice that tells your story.
Reach out, let’s have a conversation, and start collaborating.
my roots
“You ask, ‘What’s in a name?’ I answer, Just about everything you do.”
-Morris MandelI am a third-generation Idahoan and a native of Boise. Idaho is often described as the biggest small town in the world - there are frequently only a few degrees of separation between the people here, and it’s part of what makes this state so great. While I have built relationships with and been mentored by some incredible Idahoans, the person who has always been the most significant influence on my life is my dad, Richard Mollerup.
The company celebrates the influence and impact my dad had on me - it is also reflected in the brand and logo. My father was an incredibly talented craftsman in woodwork, building several pieces of furniture made of gorgeous hardwood that I have in my home today. The logo plays on the craft of joinery - two pieces of wood that fit perfectly, only becoming stronger together.
When I started out on my own, I wanted to bring my career full circle, tie it back to my roots, and pay tribute to the person who has been my hero all my life. Mollerup will forever be a part of my identity and the last name of the man who inspired me to become the person I am today.
